24. Februar 2024 Frank AlbersFür die Siegerin der israelischen Vorentscheidung Eden Golan wurde intern das Lied “October Rain” ausgewählt, aber noch nicht veröffentlicht. Aktuell prüft die EBU ob der Text des Liedes möglicherweise zu politisch und damit für den ESC nicht zulässig ist. Diese Prüfung ist aktuell noch nicht abgeschlossen (Stand 23.2.). Dennoch kommentierte der israelische Sender KAN bereits ein mögliches Verbot des Textes durch die EBU: Der Sender wäre bei einer negativen Prüfung durch die EBU nicht bereit, den Text des Liedes zu ändern. Dies würde bedeuten, dass Israel die Teilnahme am ESC 2024 absagen würde.
Noch ist jeder Ausgang möglich, daher gilt es jetzt die Prüfung des Textes durch die EBU abzuwarten.
